Rob reflects on the EU Referendum campaign

As voting comes to a close, I thought it would be timely to reflect on the EU Referendum campaign. It's been a campaign that commentators have continually characterised as heated and passionate, but essentially uninformative.

Statement on EU Referendum

Rob gives his view on the upcoming referendum on our country’s membership of the European Union.

Thank you for again putting your trust in me

It has been a huge privilege to represent this constituency in Westminster for the past 10 years and I look forward eagerly to the next five years under a majority Conservative Government.

Rob: I would like to pay tribute to the hardworking volunteers working at foodbanks

I welcome the debate held in the House on 18 December on the very important issue of food banks and was pleased to be able to attend it in the Chamber. Foodbanks provide an incredibly valuable service, beyond the support provided by Government, and I would like to pay tribute to the hardworking volunteers involved.

Inaccurate Petition Falls Flat

Rather than going door to door persuading 0.7% of my constituents to sign a distorted and partial petition, Reading Labour Party and its hapless parliamentary candidate would be better off following my example and spending its time improving education in east Reading.  Let’s not forget there would be no Reading UTC nor  new Maiden Erlegh if I had not acted.

Time for Labour to be honest over health

I welcome Andy Burnham and his health team to Reading today (February 2, 2012), I even invited him to come and have a cup of tea with me. I'm not surprised he turned me down, he'd have had to deal with a few awkward truths. Andy knows that Labour is being totally dishonest about the changes to the NHS and he needs to be honest with the public.

Open letter to Reading East Constituents

In this country we do not allow prisoners to vote.  It has long been the case (since 1870) that here in the UK we believe that individuals who have committed an offence serious enough to warrant a term of imprisonment should not be able to vote while in prison.
