Rob Wilson MP has regular Portcullis Club meetings to provide a forum for Reading East businesses to hear the views of influential policymakers and offers an opportunity to ask questions on key economic and business matters.
The Portcullis Club also enables local business people to discuss crucial business issues affecting Reading’s economy with their own MP, with government ministers and other local business people.
Coming from an entrepreneurial background himself, Rob understands the value of a thriving business community. Rob wants Portcullis Club events to encourage the business community in Reading East to be forthright in their views and work together to take on business challenges facing the constituency, so helping boost the local economy.
It is also a chance for Rob and his influential colleagues to pass feedback to the Government with regard to the issues raised at Portcullis events.
MP guest speakers have included Matt Hancock, David Gauke, Andrew Mitchell, Chloe Smith, John Howell, John Redwood, Adam Afriyie, Simon Burns, Mark Hoban, Greg Clarke, Stephen Hammond, Ed Vaizey, Jeremy Hunt, Justin Tomlinson and Robert Buckland.
The next Portcullis event will be on Friday 10th March from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
Rob's guest speaker will be Dr Phillip Lee, Member of Parliament for Bracknell, first elected in 2010. He is the Parliamentary Under Secretary for Victims, Youth and Family Justice and is now the Minister responsible for restorative justice.
Following a period of networking over a light lunch, Phillip will give a short talk, then take questions from the audience.
The event is for local business people and is free to attend.
